Seismic hazard assessment often relies on static piezocone penetration tests (CPTu) to estimate the cyclic resistance ratio (CRR) and for evaluation of in situ soil behavior. This article presents CPTu data acquired Kathmandu valley sediments makes use established interpretation procedures assess properties. Up this point predominantly SPT limited shear wave velocity measurements have been relied upon variability seismic response deposits underlying Kathmandu. provides 1) additional add existing SAFER/GEO-591 database, 2) new shear-wave measurements, 3) initial estimates CRR at sites visited.
